Sam Kee Book Co., at the basement of King's Centre, 193 King's Rd., sells only Chinese books. But you can find second hand English books at its sister shop nearby. If you are also a cat lover, there is another reason to visit the shop. It is a sanctuary for cats. Most of them are in different states of slumbering, high and low on stacks of books.

This building, in front of the HK Electric Home Management Centre, is connected with a footbridge to the Fortress Hill MTR Station. Besides vegetable and meat stalls, you can also find a flower shop. On the second floor is a food centre with an interesting combination of eateries Ð Indian, Thai and Chinese. Next door is a public library with English books for adults and children.
